Computers: Install Adobe Photoshop 7 on Windows 10

If you're having problems getting the installer exe file for Photoshop 7 to launch, try these two workarounds.

1. Open up Windows in Safe Mode and then run the installer file.
OR

2. The resources held by other processes might be stopping the .exe file from running. On my computer it was an HP resource.

To work out what is "blocking" the installer:

1. Start Task manager, you'll see the setup.exe running as a background process.
2. Click on the "Details" tab in the task manager
3. Go down to setup.exe, then right click on it and select "Analyse wait chain" to view the string
4. Select to close the program / end the process which setup is waiting on which should then launch the .exe file!

Google Nexus 5 not detected by computer help!

After a recent Windows update, trying to connect my Google Nexus 5 phone did not work. Simply connecting the device brought a message that Windows did not recognize the device and the device was now recognized as an "Unknow Device".

After first trying a different USB cable, and then checking to update the driver the MTP/PTP settings was the culprit. After finding the thread at the link below, changing the setting from the Nexus 5 from MTP to PTP and then plugging the device back to my computer work. The computer finally recognized the Nexus 5 as a Portable Device!
