Discover What Mysteries Await in the First Six Games in Anthology Horror “Dread X Collection 5”

Today, independent horror publisher and production company DreadXP put a spotlight on six of the twelve games included in Dread X Collection 5, the latest entry in its popular anthology horror game series.

Based around the theme of “entertainment”, the first six titles included in Dread X Collection 5 take players everywhere from an infamous nightclub, dark carnival, after-hours art gallery, and an unassuming 1980s home… Are you ready to scream?

  • Rotten Sigma by VisceralError (The Gallagher Case): Neal, a retired policeman, finds the courage to investigate the sudden disappearance of 12 children at the Gallagher Sports Center in 2006. Among them was his 8-year-old-daughter, Amanda. Neal will not only reach the end of the denouement but will also live the worst night of his life.

  • We Never Left by Conner Rush of FYRE Games (Summerland): The year is 1983. You sit at home alone on a dark and stormy night until the ring of the phone pierces your ears. Answering, you hear a voice unfamiliar to you. The mysterious caller informs you with little urgency that your recluse game developer of a cousin has gone missing. All that was found of him was a note. All that was written was your contact information and a vague message: “FINISH THE GAME”.

Uncover the twisted secrets of a disturbed mind in this pixelated first-person / text adventure game inspired by classic horror of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

  • Gallerie by Shackles (Totem): Puzzled by mysterious disappearances surrounding a large art gallery, you venture inside only to find yourself in the maw of an interdimensional entity. With no escape, you must find a way to kill it and break yourself out. But, you’re not alone. The paint whispers…
  • The Book of Blood by Darkstone Digital (The Mortuary Assistant): The night is wrapping up at the Pomeroy Grasslands carnival. Workers are heading home and Trevor volunteers to lock the front gates after he’s done closing his booth. As he’s finishing work, one of the last employees gives him a book found outside the trailer to place in his lost and found. Shortly after Trevor is left alone, a man in a mask steps out of the dark and approaches the booth. The man's strange movement stops abruptly as he hands Trevor a note that simply reads “let me in”. In the light of the booth, it becomes obvious that something unnatural is hiding behind the mask. The thing slides back into the darkness. Trevor is not alone.

Stay safe in the trailer by keeping out what is lurking in the dark. The book may be the only answer to survival.

  • Resver by colorfiction (0°N 0°W, Ode to a Moon): Resver was a former nightclub in Pittsburgh, PA, between 1980 and early 1990. World-famous for its celebrity guest lists and rampant drug use, it is widely credited with initiating the psychocore movement in the United States. After the tragic fire of December 24, 1992, which left at least 384 injured and 75 casualties, Resver 'officially' shut down. But rumors swirled for decades about an underground rebirth, ever-changing industrial locations, coveted invites spread by word of mouth and cryptic bathroom graffiti. Tonight marks the 20th anniversary of the dreaded pyrotechnic accident, and at the very last minute, your friends invite you to Resver!

  • Ludomalica by iwilliams (Haunted PS1 Madvent Calendar 2021): Ludomalica, you had tried playing it before, but it seemed like some of the pieces were missing... That time you did not take the rules seriously. Why would it matter if you were home alone or if you played by candlelight?

This time it's different — your parents are gone for the weekend, the candles are lit, and it's past midnight. Your game piece is on the starting space and the dice are in your hands. You sense a malicious presence emanating from the board in front of you. You can't help but feel that once you cast your die, you're going to be playing until the end.

AVOX 2022: New Event: The Actors Voice Over Experience

Announcing the launch of our new annual event:

The Actors Voice Over Experience

We’re excited to announce our new event — AVOX, the Actors Voice Over Experience — happening July 2-3 at the Pasadena Convention Center. AVOX is our partnership with PCB Entertainment, Inc. — a cross-platform content creation company, which is one of the Gaming and Anime industry’s leading digital post-production studios. AVOX is happening in addition to our annual Los Angeles Comic Con, which will be back this December 2-4, 2022.

Early bird passes for AVOX will go on sale Tuesday, March 8th at 9:00 AM

Why Launch A New Event?

For years, attendees like you, have asked for us to bring more Anime and Gaming content to L.A. Comic Con. And while we will include more of that dedicated content, that alone didn’t seem to be enough.

After listening to your input, we realized that there was a need for a show that was "more intimate, interactive, curated, and most importantly, not over-crowded." So working with PCB Entertainment Inc. and some of the top creators in the industry, we decided to bring you a new kind of experience that focuses more on the incredible talent that bring Anime, Video Games, and Animation to life.

AVOX has already signed 100+ of the top actors/actresses from Anime, Gaming, and Animation – the largest voice cast ever assembled – who will all be appearing EXCLUSIVELY at AVOX in L.A. on the July 2-3, 2022 weekend.

This won’t be a traditional con, but instead, a next-level experience – more like a theme park and backstage tour than a Con -- uniting fans and talent in a completely unique way. Scroll down to learn more about how AVOX works!

The Four Attractions

To begin – AVOX consists of 4 different Attractions, and every fan’s ticket guarantees that they get to experience all four.

THE STAGE

Celebrity based contests and entertainment events onstage with audience interaction and live Q&A.

It’s a competition format with skits, improv and prerecorded bits —and the audience vote determines who goes on and who goes home.

THE SHOWCASE

Two main stages will feature blockbuster panels featuring Voice Over artists and creators from the biggest Anime, Gaming, and Animation franchises.

The Showcase will feature live, in-person and/or virtual discussions about specific topics, sneak peaks, premiers, exclusives, etc. available only at AVOX.

THE STUDIO

Through artist led workshops and shows, fans and talent will have the ability to interact in an intimate setting.

Each of these 10+ workshops has limited capacity, giving fans a unique opportunity to connect with the pop culture icons of their choice

THE MARKETPLACE

The Marketplace Exhibit Halls are the hub for 100 exhibitors, artist alley and celebrity autographs and photo ops.

In addition, The Marketplace will host a video game stage where talent, gamers, and influencers compete with fans for prizes.

You Choose Where You Start

Fans will have 4 colors to choose from — The color you pick determines which Attraction starts your day. Every 2 hours, each group will rotate to the next Attraction. But no matter where you start your day at AVOX, everyone gets to see everything.

If you’d prefer to wander freely, we've created a limited number of Platinum All Access add-ons, so you can create your own experience at AVOX!

The Fan is at the Center of Everything

The Actors Voice Over Experience was designed for Anime, Gaming, and Animation superfans that would like to connect more deeply with the characters from the shows and games they love. This is a place for you to escape from the crowd and experience your passions in a curated and intimate setting.

Mark your calendar — Early bird passes will go on sale next Tuesday, March 8th at 9:00 AM.

DreadXP Launches Limited-Time Demo for “My Friendly Neighborhood”

Hey there, buckaroo!

Everyone's favorite Saturday morning puppet show is headed back to primetime and is hosting an extra special sneak peek preview during Steam Next Fest: February 2022 Edition. A demo for DreadXP’s gosh darn charming survival horror game, My Friendly Neighborhood, is available to download starting today and only until February 28th! After that, it’s gone. Ya’ better not miss it; it’s to die for!!!

My Friendly Neighborhood puts players into the work-boots of Gordon, a repairman tasked with shutting down the sudden broadcast of a canceled children's’ TV show called The Friendly Neighborhood. Back in the day, The Friendly Neighborhood lit up TV screens and the smiling faces of children all across the world. Fans loved the show’s colorful cast of kooky puppet pals who took them on educational adventures and delighted them with fun games. But the show’s popularity waned over time, and the studio had to ultimately shut its doors. Then, one night years later, the show suddenly reappears for a surprise encore… are those puppets eating each other!?

Available for a limited time, the demo for My Friendly Neighborhood gives players a taste of Gordon’s frightening night at the television studio. Gordon is stuck in the studio’s basement and is given friendly (?) advice by Ricky the Sock that leads Gordon on the search for an old, possibly broken, elevator. Players must explore the basement, juggle ammo limitations, strategically tape not-so-friendly neighbors to the ground, and avoid a very grumpy puppet named Ray.

Featuring a mix of action and adventure, My Friendly Neighborhood is the perfect game for horror fans looking for solid scares rather than gore. Sure, there might not be any dismemberment or decapitations, but that just means the puppets don’t stay down for good.

My Friendly Neighborhood Key Features:

  • A colorful cast of puppet friends turned adversaries (and maybe turned friends again!)
  • Non-linear, survival horror gameplay. Make sure to check your map!
  • Unique weapons like the Rolodexer. Do you know your ABCs? You better - it's your ammo
  • An array of puzzles in the vein of the survival horror greats
  • A multitude of diverse environments, from the "BTS" Ray's Workshop to cardboard crayon halls
  • A grid-based real-time inventory, cause that's just way better

Developed by brothers John and Evan Szymanski and published by DreadXP,
My Friendly Neighborhood releases for Windows PC via Steam and Itch.io later this year. Visit the official Steam page to download the demo and wishlist the full game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1574260/My_Friendly_Neighborhood.
